Help Us Celebrate a Life-Changing Week: Support ICAN’s Fall Team Training with Gift Card Donations

This fall, something extraordinary is happening behind the walls of Pendleton Correctional Facility. From October 22–29, ICAN (Indiana Canine Assistant Network) will host its next Team Training—a transformative week where newly matched service dogs and clients begin their journey together. It’s a moment of hope, healing, and new beginnings.

While we’re keeping the names of our graduating dogs and incoming clients under wraps for now, we’re deep in preparation to make this week unforgettable for everyone involved. And we need your help to make it happen.

Why Team Training Matters

Team Training is more than just a week of instruction—it’s the foundation of a lifelong partnership. Each client is paired with a highly trained service dog, and together they learn to navigate daily life as a team. The cost of this immersive experience is nearly $1,000 per pair, covering:

  • Specialized gear for the service dog

  • Daily meals for clients and handlers

  • Training materials and supplies

  • Travel assistance for clients

Your support ensures that these teams start strong, with everything they need to succeed.

How You Can Make a Difference

We’re asking for gift card donations to help offset the costs and bring comfort and convenience to our clients during this important week. Whether it’s a warm meal, a tank of gas, or essential supplies, your gift will go directly toward supporting these new partnerships.

Most helpful gift cards include:

  • 🚗 Gas & Travel

    • Shell, BP, Speedway

  • 🍽️ Meals

    • Olive Garden, Subway, Papa Johns, McAlister’s Deli

  • 🛒 Supplies

    • Amazon, Costco, GFS, Kroger

  • Treats & Snacks

    • Jack’s Donuts, Einstein Bros. Bagels

Every donation, big or small, helps us create a welcoming and empowering environment for our clients and their canine companions.

You can drop these cards off at our office or contact Samantha Wodecki, ICAN Director of Philanthropy, at swodecki@icandog.org for further instructions.

Be Part of Their Journey

By donating a gift card, you’re not just giving a meal or a ride—you’re giving confidence, dignity, and the tools for independence. You’re helping someone take the first step toward a brighter future with their service dog by their side.

Let’s make this fall’s Team Training unforgettable. Join us in supporting ICAN’s mission and the incredible people and dogs who make it possible.
