Adding Up the Wags: A Decade of DOZ
At DOZ, LLC, accounting, tax, and consulting services are just the starting point. For over 35 years, this family-oriented, community-driven firm has gone beyond the spreadsheets—building trust, nurturing relationships, and leaving a lasting legacy of service and generosity.
With a team of over 300 professionals serving clients nationwide from offices in Carmel, Indiana, and Austin, Texas, DOZ is known not only for its expertise, but for its unwavering commitment to making a difference.
In 2010, DOZ took its philanthropic spirit to the next level by founding The DOZ Charitable Foundation Inc., infusing generosity into the organization’s DNA. In 2023 alone, the organization:
Donated $134,000 to various charities
Supported 52 community organizations
Logged 2,188 employee volunteer hours across 80 events
For DOZ, this isn’t just corporate social responsibility—it’s a movement powered by people who care.
One of DOZ’s most cherished partnerships is with the Indiana Canine Assistant Network (ICAN), an organization that trains service dogs to support children, adults, and Veterans living with disabilities.
“Supporting nonprofits like ICAN is one of the most meaningful ways we put our values into action,” shared Nick Barnard, DOZ audit principal and head of DOZ’s outreach committee.
Since 2014, DOZ has contributed over $20,000 to ICAN’s mission of unleashing abilities—and hope. Their journey began with a sponsored service dog in training named DOZer.
Though DOZer didn’t graduate as a working dog, his story took a beautiful turn. He was placed with a partner’s family, where he now brings comfort and joy to their son living with autism.
This year, DOZ is proud to be the presenting sponsor of ICAN’s largest annual fundraiser: Wine & Wags. The event is more than a celebration—it’s a catalyst for change. Wine & Wags is where ICAN expands its pawprints in the community, introducing its mission to new audiences and deepening its impact.
Through powerful storytelling, heartfelt connections, and the presence of its incredible service dogs, ICAN uses this event to raise awareness, inspire action, and build lasting partnerships.
“Thanks to DOZ’s sponsorship, every dollar raised at Wine & Wags goes directly to ICAN’s mission—not to overhead costs,” ICAN President Jillian Ashton said. “It’s a gift that keeps giving.”
For DOZ team members like Emily Taylor, an audit senior manager and president of the DOZ Charitable Foundation, the connection to ICAN is deeply personal.
“I’ve always cared a lot about people with disabilities, and I’m a lifelong dog lover,” Emily says. “I’m excited to attend Wine & Wags for the first time and to learn even more about an organization that DOZ supports.”
DOZ empowers team members like Nick and Emily to give generously through paycheck deductions, donation matching, and creative fundraising efforts like gift card programs and Kroger points.
The firm also proves that when a company leads with purpose, the ripple effect is powerful. Their partnership with ICAN is a testament to what happens when business meets heart.
“Working at DOZ means being part of something bigger than accounting. I love that philanthropy isn’t just encouraged—it’s woven into everything we do. Knowing that my work contributes to a company that invests in people, communities, and causes like ICAN makes me proud to be here,” Emily said.
Whether it’s through a wagging tail or a helping hand, DOZ is committed to making the world a better place—one paw at a time.
