Events
ICAN is a proud and active presence at community events across Indiana. You’ll find us statewide—meeting neighbors, sharing our mission, and highlighting the incredible impact of our service dogs wherever people gather.
We love being part of the communities we serve, and we invite you to join us. Explore our upcoming events and connect with ICAN in person.
Man’s Best Friend: In War and At Home
Join us at the Indiana Historical Society on Saturday, May 16, from 1–2 p.m. for a special presentation with ICAN client and Vietnam Veteran Thomas Hutchings and his service dog, Billy.
Man’s Best Friend: In War and At Home Hear Thomas share his experiences serving in Vietnam and discover how his ICAN‑trained service dog supports him today with mobility needs and service‑related trauma. The program features a short talk and a live demonstration showing how service dogs continue to transform veterans’ lives long after they return home.
This program is open to all ages and is best suited for ages 8+.
Bonus: ICAN will have an informational table — and dogs — on site from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Ican at the fort wayne zoon
ICAN will be onsite at the Fort Wayne Zoo on Sunday, June 14 for Military Appreciation Day. Stop by our booth to meet an ICAN service dog in training and learn how our dogs support Veterans living with service‑related trauma, including PTSD.
