Fall 2025 Team Training and Graduation

We’re honored to share that seven of our dedicated service dogs in training have officially graduated and been matched with their lifelong clients as of October 2025.

These dogs completed Team Training at Pendleton Correctional Facility, where they learned to meet the unique needs of their clients. Now, they’re stepping into their roles as trusted teammates, ready to help their partners navigate life with greater independence and confidence.

To celebrate this milestone, we recently hosted a graduation ceremony at Zionsville Town Hall. Volunteers gathered to witness the culmination of months of training, love, and commitment—and to say goodbye to the dogs whose journeys they helped shape.

We also proudly celebrated a veteran psychiatric service dog partnership, made possible through the compassionate work of ICAN Trainer Deborah Cotton. This match represents the healing power of canine companionship and the strength of those who serve.

Our new client and dog partnerships include:

Kendall & Rone

Rone will serve as Kendall’s mobility assistance dog, empowering her to live more independently by helping with tasks such as retrieving items, navigating stairs safely, operating lights and doors, and seeking help in emergencies.

sara lyn & asia

Asia will work as a mobility assistance dog for Sara Lyn. She is Sara Lyn’s third ICAN dog and will support her mobility and independence by providing balance assistance, retrieving items, and helping her conserve energy to enjoy more time with loved ones.

Olivia, Anna-Katherine & Feta

Feta is joining Pleasant Grove Elementary School in Greenwood as a facility assistant dog. Alongside her primary handler Anna-Katherine and secondary handler Olivia—both social workers—she’ll support students through one-on-one and group lessons, emotional and social learning, reading activities, and act as a reward for positive behavior.

Ruthie & Gouda

Gouda will be part of the team at Center Grove Middle School North in Greenwood as a facility assistance dog. Alongside her primary handler, Ruthie, and secondary handler, Chrissy—both school counselors—she’ll support students through daily lessons, problem-solving, and reading.

Carrie, Caroline & Tater Tot

Tater Tot will work at Eichelberger Elementary School in Plainfield, IL, supporting special education, the Individualized Education Program, and behavior classrooms alongside his handlers—Carrie, a media specialist, and Caroline, a social worker—while also providing emotional support and reinforcing positive behaviors.

Rob & Queso

Queso will be a facility dog at Hooverwood Senior Living in Indianapolis. He will work alongside his handler, Rob, to support over 140 residents through daily interactions, therapeutic activities, and emotional comfort for residents and their families.

Matthew & Solomon

Solomon will work as a psychiatric service dog and support Matthew, a military Veteran, by recognizing signs of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and interrupting them. This will help him stay grounded and maintain his independence. Through timely alerts and redirection, Solomon will provide Matthew with a calming focus during moments of stress.

For each of these teams, their journeys are just beginning—and you can help shape them. Donate today to empower these new partnerships from day one.
